Description
Fisher CAV4 valves are designed for clean, cavitating services where the pressure drop is above 207 bar (3000 psi). The Cavitrol IV trim in this valve is designed to have an expanding flow area. Each of the trim stages has a successively larger flow area. The result is a very efficient operation because more than 90 percent of the overall pressure drop is taken in the initial stages, where there is little danger of cavity formation which could result in cavitation. Designed to prevent cavitation with a pressure drop limit of 552 bar (8000 psi). The protected seat design separates the shutoff function from the throttling function to protect seating surfaces from throttling wear. Hardened trim materials provide wear resistance, resulting in long trim life.
